What the week is actually like

Murex also runs Manado and Lembeh Resort, which makes their Passport to Paradise the easy way to combine all three. In 2015 I built my own version, Siladen to Murex Bangka to Lembeh, because I wanted Ana and Miguel and did not want to stay in Manado. It remains the best mix I have done in Indonesia.

Worth knowing

Two things nobody tells you

Humble, not luxury — simple rooms, simple buffet food, a few steps up from backpacking. What you're paying for is the reef outside the door, not the resort.

No camera infrastructure to speak of — rigs come together in your room. Staff help carry them to the boat once you're at the dive centre, which is the one place the gap gets covered.

Manado is the gateway, and Bangka combines naturally with Lembeh and Bunaken into one North Sulawesi trip with a single set of flights.
