Every guide is a full write-up — the diving, the sites, the operators, when to go and who it suits. Each one also carries a number, arrived at the same way, published whether or not it flatters the place.
Every operator dived, ranked on the six operator axes only — the reef they sit on is scored separately and is not in these numbers. This is a record of where I have actually been, not a survey of the market: twenty-one operators, some visited more than a decade ago, and the year is on every row.

Underwater is six axes, out of 60 — and it leads, because the reef does not change when an operator does. Operator is six more, out of 60, scored per stay. Everything is published as a percentage, which is what lets a stay scored on five axes sit honestly beside one scored on six: Camera is not assessed on pre-2009 visits, and the denominator moves with it. The story on each guide is written, never scored.
Every frame on this site was made on a dive I paid for and wrote up honestly. Fine art prints and licensing, from the same trips.
