Dolphin mono · Size 1.25 m

The story · in my own words

The day was two-metre seas and surge that threw divers about on their safety stops. The Galapagos in shoulder season is like that; the currents shifted all week, and after the first day only two cameras were still going into the water.

Then, at the end of a dive, one dolphin. The particulate that made the diving hard caught the light and turned it to flare, and for a moment the sea was calm.

The frame is monochrome because the scene was: grey water, grey light, one grey animal passing. Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.

A dolphin in black and white, the Galápagos.

The technique and lighting lines link to the craft articles that explain them. A dash means the record does not hold it, and I would rather show the gap than fill it.
